“Threats of political violence are dangerous, unacceptable, and have no place in our democracy.
“By preventing President Trump from trying to divide us with distracting public relations stunts, maybe then he will turn his attention to his reckless trade war.
“The Great Lakes are a shared treasure that generations of Americans and Canadians have worked together to protect. I’m introducing legislation to keep Lake Ontario as Lake Ontario and block President Trump’s idiotic order. When President Trump is done doing arts and crafts in the Oval, I’d suggest he turn his attention to his failed economy that is raising costs, eliminating jobs, and leaving working men and women behind.
“Let’s just call it Lake Natalie so we know you’ll start protecting our Great Lakes.
“Donald Trump can sign all the Executive Orders he wants, but it will always be Lake Ontario.
“Canada is not our enemy. It is our neighbor, our ally, and one of Michigan’s most important economic partners. It is a friendship that no stroke of a pen can erase.
“Let’s just call it Lake Natalie so we know you’ll start protecting our Great Lakes.
“Chinese automakers use slave labor, massive government subsidies, and unfair trade practices, and their vehicles are a national security risk with equipment that transmits data to China. These companies have already decimated European competitors in their home markets, causing layoffs and production cuts, and we will not let them do the same thing in the United States.
