The announcement this afternoon regarding a potential steel plant in southeast Iowa is compelling. I would love to see the creation of good-paying jobs for hardworking Iowans.

Iowa does a lot of things really, really well. We feed and fuel the world, and now we're going to continue to be a part of the American manufacturing story. … With 1,700 jobs, I just think about the countless opportunities for Iowa families and what this means for them. It is a game changer for our state and, frankly, for the country.

This is a transformational opportunity for our country, our state, and American families — one that strengthens national security, creates thousands of high-paying jobs, and provides a reliable supply of high-quality, American-made steel. … Really, what this does is it changes the economic trajectory for this region. It's one of the most depressed regions of Iowa.

This is a promising idea for Lee County and for our state given that our economy is among the worst in the nation. I look forward to hearing more details, particularly on what protections for Iowa taxpayers will be built into the deal, and what guarantees will exist for Iowa workers [if Iowa taxpayers are asked to chip in].

Allowing biological men to play in women's sports breaks the promise of Title IX. … Biological women should not be asked to accommodate men who, for reasons of identity or otherwise, choose to compete in (the) women's category instead of (the) men's or co-ed category.

The herd is at a 70-year low, and we need to be doing everything we can to support our Iowa cattlemen in what they do. We grow the highest quality beef here in Iowa, and so absolutely I’ll be advocating to the administration because I think we need to be focusing on growing the herd the right way and protecting our cattlemen.

To date, the available records cause serious concerns about how federal law enforcement and the Intelligence Community used its resources to downgrade allegations of criminality relating to the Biden family apparently without sufficient investigation. The records also cause concern about how federal records were stored and managed.

Some Round River documents include banner markings to identify classified information; however, the banner markings include "Round River" as a classification code. It appears the Wray FBI treated Round River as a Special Access Program when all accounts provided to us so far show no indication that it was in fact such a program.

The FBI intentionally misclassified information a certain way which would result in more obstacles to obtaining access, whether it be Congress or the American people who sought it.
