Congresswoman Madeleine Dean (PA-04) and Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, demanded a federal investigation into former Bard College President Leon Botstein after reviewing an email in which Botstein asked Jeffrey Epstein about a young woman Epstein was trafficking: “Is [Jane Doe] for me, or are you keeping her for yourself.”
Congresswoman Dean reintroduced legislation to create a Science Advisory Board at the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) within the Department of Justice (DOJ). The Board will be responsible for integrating scientific knowledge into crime-reduction efforts, as well as for using research, data, and evidence to guide the OJP’s grants, programs, and activities.
