“He is wholly unqualified. He will prioritize loyalty to President Trump rather than serve as an independent law enforcement leader. I do not believe Todd Blanche has the votes to be confirmed as Attorney General.

“the corruption and lawlessness is out of control
“They are lying to you as they always do. They always lie. Everything that comes out their mouth… is pure lies. People are still not getting adequate food. They are not getting adequate medical care.
“What I witnessed and experienced today was shameful. Delaney Hall is a failure; it's this administration's failure. The only way to make this right for our communities is to shut it down and make sure the failures we've seen never happen again.
“Immigrants at Delaney Hall are on a hunger strike because they are fighting for their human rights. The conditions there are deplorable. We're working with our partners in the state to bring an end to this nightmare and I'll be going to Delaney Hall again to conduct oversight.
“[Booker criticized the potential deal as a form of hypocrisy from the Trump administration, given that the administration nixed an agreement formed under the Obama administration on similar terms.]
“My request for access to Delaney Hall was formally denied this morning, raising serious questions about what they are trying to hide from public view. I have long opposed private detention facilities and will continue to advocate for the closure of Delaney Hall and against any expansion of mass detention facilities in New Jersey, like the proposed facility in Roxbury.
“Last night I arrived at Delaney Hall to conduct an unannounced oversight visit after hearing a constituent was facing potential transfer or deportation for his role in the recent strike. I was denied entry, but I have remained on-site throughout the night.
“Delaney Hall cannot continue to generate profit on the back of horrendous human suffering. I stand firmly in support of the brave detainees inside the facility and the protesters outside who are standing up for what's right. I will continue to call for accountability and carry out oversight of this facility.
“I saw chaos inside and outside of the ICE detention center Delaney Hall today. Detainees protesting the lack of due process, the disgusting food and poor treatment while their families and advocates stood outside calling for help. Instead of engaging with me and others about the poor conditions, ICE sent in an armored vehicle and a line of armed agents that only poured gasoline on the fire. Civilians were tackled and restrained, and agents fired pepper balls and spray into the crowd.
“Donald Trump is being played as a fool that he is for getting us into this in the first place. What I'm seeing that has me so outraged right now is the president said he went into this to deal with their nuclear program. This does not deal with that. The same deal he criticized, he's already doing worse than.
“The DOJ indicted the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that has spent more than half a century fighting the Klan, tracking hate, and defending civil rights. Let's be clear about what's happening. This administration is using the full weight of federal prosecution to target an organization whose mission is rooting out violent extremism. This is part and parcel of Trump's assault on free speech, on nonprofits, and on anyone who dares to disagree with him. First it was lawfare against political opponents. Then it was revoking the tax status of universities. Now it's a federal indictment against one of the most historic civil rights organizations in America. The SPLC has saved lives. It will not be silenced — and neither will we.
“Americans don't want to go to war with Iran. By launching strikes, President Trump has made the same dangerous and foolish decision President Bush did a generation ago. He put Americans in harm's way without clearly showing there's an imminent threat to our national security.
“Today, the United States, with our key democratic ally Israel, took decisive action to defend our national security, fight terror, protect our allies, and stand with the Iranian people who have been massacred in the streets for demanding freedom from the murderous Iranian regime.
“We're going through these negotiations right now. I don't wanna see that funding [for ICE]
“This strike sends a horrible and disturbing signal to other powerful leaders across the globe that targeting a head of state is an acceptable policy.
