“I would welcome bipartisan legislation to ban these across the state. This is not something in the public interest.
“Ordering Americans into harm's way is maybe the most solemn and serious responsibility of the Commander in Chief. And this guy calls it small potatoes?
“Let’s scare people with yet another boogeyman and not do anything about it. Not really solve problems, just try to scare people.
“Unfortunately at a time where I needed the top 'health expert' in the nation to responsibly work with us to deal with this outbreak, he instead chose to go down a rabbit hole of conspiracy theories and false claims.
“I have thoroughly reviewed the case investigation information and sadly can confirm that there were two recent measles-associated deaths in Lancaster County.
“I was very, very blunt with him, and I made very clear that his actions and the rhetoric that's coming from this administration are having a negative impact on communities across America, particularly right here in Pennsylvania.
“Folks are spreading skepticism about things like the MMR vaccine without any evidence to back up their claims. There's real-life consequences to spreading misinformation. There's real-life consequences to scaring people and not relying on actual doctors and actual medical professionals to provide unbiased information to parents so that we can make reasonable decisions for our kids.
