Democrats will keep fighting in the courts and in Congress to make sure this $2 billion giveaway to cop beaters, criminals, and MAGA cronies never sees the light of day.

Instead of using taxpayer dollars to make life more affordable and better for the American people, Donald Trump is abusing his power to corruptly enrich himself, his family and his billionaire friends.

As working families shorten their grocery lists as they struggle to make ends meet, Donald Trump has added a nearly two-billion-dollar slush fund for his MAGA allies and January 6th insurrectionists to his wish list of pet projects he wants to fund with taxpayer dollars.

He sued the government he runs, had his own DOJ settle the case and pocketed the prize: special IRS protection for the Trump family. That is self-dealing with a government seal.

This is one of the very worst military and foreign policy actions that the United States has ever taken. Congress must reassert its authority, especially at this dangerous moment. No president, Democrat or Republican, should take this country to war alone. Not now. Not ever. All of this happens when one man, especially a man acting as unhinged as Donald Trump, has unchecked power to wage war.

Orbán's loss is a significant defeat for Putin, for Trump and for the forces of authoritarianism around the world. This should be a wake-up call for Americans ahead of the midterms. Authoritarianism can be defeated at the ballot box.
