“I just want to be very clear that we continue to be incredibly disappointed of the decision to not have this interview videotaped and then released to the American public... it should have been under oath and it should be videotaped. We obviously have a lot of questions as it relates to why only 50% of the files have been released, why many of the survivors … were literally put in danger by the way the files were released.

“Acting AG Blanche was managing the entire investigation... all of the mistakes that we saw — the redactions not protecting survivors — she continues to push that back onto the acting AG Todd Blanche.
“Dear @DOJRR47: In case you missed it, GOP Senators told @DAGToddBlanche to shove it. And how quaint, you think deleting stuff from a website makes it go away. The stain of Jan 6 is recorded and seared in American history. Nothing you do will erase it. And November is coming.
“My thoughts go out to Tulsi Gabbard and her family, as her husband battles this serious health problem. I hope and pray that he makes a speedy and full recovery. While the circumstances around her departure are deserving of our sympathy, let's be clear: Tulsi Gabbard's only positive contribution to our nation's national security is her resignation.
“The repressive Cuban regime has suppressed its population and stifled the economic progress of its people for decades. Much as I wish the regime gone and a better future for the Cuban people, there is no indication that Cuba poses a significant national security threat to the United States. The American people have spoken loud and clear that they do not want any more costly wars of choice that skyrocket prices at home.
“My good friend Thomas Massie lost tonight. I'm angered by the smears on his character. He lost because he had the guts to take on the Epstein class.
“It's very strange, very unprecedented. It's very concerning. I don't know why anyone is receiving money from this fund and I think there should be congressional oversight into how the fund came to be and the criteria for any distributions.
“Pure. Unadulterated. Corruption.
“It's bad enough that he pardoned people involved in the first violent attempt to essentially overthrow a free and fair election, but now he wants to pay them. It's obscene, and it's all the more obscene when you consider that people are struggling right now.
“First, Donald Trump sues his own IRS to enrich himself. Now he wants to use billions in taxpayer funds to compensate his allies, including thousands charged for the January 6 insurrection. This is easily the most corrupt regime in U.S. history.
“Recent Ukrainian gains have created an opportunity for peace, but the collapse of the recent ceasefire shows that leverage is needed for diplomacy to succeed. Congress can act now, in a bipartisan way, to strengthen that leverage and advance a durable peace that protects the interests of the United States and our allies. We must also send a strong message that Russian support for Iran's targeting of U.S. military assets will not be tolerated.
“If Donald Trump had seen the video transcript, he would have fired Howard Lutnick. It was really embarrassing.
“If you saw the exchanges that my colleagues had with him, you would see he made a farce of the English language. It was just contortions and lies and no acknowledgement.
“If we could chase Hillary Clinton, who hasn't been in office for 20 years, certainly we can get Pam Bondi to explain why she covered up documents, why we haven't had prosecution.
“Pam Bondi has illegally defied our committee, skipped her deposition, and has refused to cooperate. We have introduced a contempt resolution to hold her accountable. It's interesting how it's only when we take action that they actually ever do anything. This is great news — Bondi's testimony is crucial given her extensive personal knowledge about how the Administration handled the Epstein files.
“Your $25 billion number is totally off. Do you know how much it will cost Americans in terms of their increased cost in gas and food over the next year because of the Iran war?
“Secretary Hegseth, you have been lying to the American public about this war from day one and so has the president. This is a geopolitical calamity, a strategic blunder, and a self-inflicted wound to America.
“We just defeated Johnson's efforts to sneak through a 5-year FISA authorization tonight. Now, they will have to fight in daylight.
“Over the past 15 months, we have seen unprecedented corruption from this administration, but this new abuse of power of providing huge cash payments to 'settle' baseless lawsuits brought forward by Trump and his allies is a new low. The bill that Senator Warren, Leader Schumer, Ranking Member Raskin, and I are bringing forward would stop this backdoor bribery and bring some accountability back to the federal government.
“Pam Bondi is evading a lawful congressional subpoena by failing to appear before the Oversight Committee for a deposition about the Epstein files and the White House cover-up. If she continues to ignore the law, Oversight Democrats will move forward with contempt proceedings immediately.
“I am deeply sorry to my family, staff, and constituents for mistakes in judgment I've made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegation made against me. However, I must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I did make. I am aware of efforts to bring an immediate expulsion vote against me. Expelling anyone in Congress without due process, within days of an allegation being made, is wrong. But it's also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties. Therefore, I plan to resign my seat in Congress.
“This extremely sensitive matter must be appropriately investigated with full transparency and accountability. As I discussed with Congressman Swalwell, it is clear that is best done outside of a gubernatorial campaign.
“These are the ugliest and most serious accusations imaginable. Swalwell should leave the race now so there can be full accountability without doubt, distraction, or delay.
“These allegations of sexual assault are flat false. They're absolutely false. They did not happen. They have never happened, and I will fight them with everything that I have.
“I am deeply distressed about the allegations surrounding Congressman Swalwell. This woman was brave to come forward, and we should take her story seriously. I am withdrawing my endorsement immediately. I believe he should withdraw from the race.
“Hegseth should be fired. He endangered our pilots, he's killing survivors at sea, and now his department is defying a federal court order to let the press do its job. The American people have a right to know what the Pentagon is doing, especially during a war.
“The subpoena requires Pam Bondi to appear for a sworn deposition regarding the Department of Justice's handling of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his associates and compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Her firing does not nullify a valid subpoena. Chairman Comer must publicly reaffirm that Bondi is legally obligated to appear, and Congress must enforce its own subpoenas — otherwise our oversight authority is meaningless.
“Pam Bondi must come in to testify immediately, and if she defies the subpoena, we will begin contempt charges in the Congress. The subpoena was lawful, bipartisan, and named Bondi personally — not by title. The American people have a right to know how the Department of Justice handled the Epstein files, and no one is above the law, including a fired Attorney General trying to dodge accountability.
“If the United States Congress has any life left in it, every member of Congress and senator must be calling for Trump's removal today, based on the 25th Amendment. Threatening war crimes is a blatant violation of our Constitution and the Geneva Conventions.
“Donald Trump's instability is more clear and dangerous than ever. If the Cabinet is not willing to invoke the 25th Amendment and restore sanity, Republicans must reconvene the Congress to end this war.
